Construction for the Kaiser Permanente Everett Medical Center expansion began in early 2022 and is scheduled to open for patient care in late 2024. The expanded facility will include primary and specialty care, an ambulatory surgery center, 24/7 urgent care, an imaging lab, pharmacy services, and a new 6-level parking structure – all in one convenient location.

Alongside M.A. Mortenson (General Contractor) and KPFF (Structural Engineer Of Record), GC Solutions, LLC was able to provide the necessary services and products to successfully integrate the RediStair® system into the newly added parking garage, serving as the two main egress pathways out of the structure. Although M.A. Mortenson chose to post-install the stair systems after the structural slabs were placed, the project still benefited from the efficiency of the installation, the safety of construction access, and the quality of the precast RediStair® system.

“Having the stairs installed and usable earlier in the [construction] process was very helpful. We utilized temporary protection (supplied by RediStair®) to ensure we didn’t cause damage to the precast [RediStair® stringers] during construction. I appreciated that the RediStair® system wasn’t a ‘two-step process’ – once the RediStair® stringers were placed, they were immediately usable (as opposed to a steel/pan-filled stair system).

Additionally, RediStair® project management was very knowledgeable and always willing to help walk through the details/shop drawings during early field coordination. The RediStair® team was constantly willing to provide helpful feedback which allowed for successful installation & field coordination on the project.
