Scope 22-Story (122 Stringers)

Architect HKS Architects Inc.

Engineer Walter P Moore

A joint venture between McCarthy and M.A. Mortenson, the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center is a $1.2 billion development that includes a 1,600-room hotel, rising 22 stories with stunning views of both the San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the hotel, the project features a massive 275,000-square-foot convention center and a 1,600-stall parking garage.

The project currently employs around 800 workers representing various trades. RediStair® stringers are being incorporated into the three main egress towers, facilitating efficient and safe access to the live deck and preceding floors during construction. The temporary tread protection, provided by RediStair® ensures the precast stringers maintain their quality despite construction activities.

With 122 RediStair® stringers being installed, the floor-to-floor installation process (including forming, setting, reinforcing, and placing concrete at landings) will take approximately 12-15 man-hours.

The project is slated to open to the public in the summer of 2025.
